Technical:
PC's/Mac's
-
Having a business which uses PC's and Mac's can be awkward. Configuring them to work over a network is especially difficult. I have extensive experience and knowledge in making all computers work together in an office environment.
Linux/UNIX
-
Popular and free software for building an internal network to share files, keep secure backups and to provide email services. If you would like to take advantage of having all your business documents stored centerally, and safely backed up each night then a Linux server is the right choice.
Remote backups
-
If you use a Linux server to store all your business documents, it is able each evening and even several times a day to make a remote copy of all your critical business data. Especially useful in the event of theft, or unexpected fire or water damage.
Firewall
-
Software designed to protect your business from unwanted guests. When a computer/ business is perminatly connected to the Internet you will run the risk of it being hacked. A firewall reduces those risks. A firewall is also used to limit who or what can access the Internet from within your business.
VPN Server
-
Used to allow remote users, home workers, sales people etc. to access your business as if they were in the office. This enables your employees to read their email, store or retireve files and access any software you may run in the office.
