Basic connection for one computer, a USB device is often the best option. More than one computer and you will require a network capable device.

CAT5 Network

In order for several computers to reach the Internet or talk to each other, you will need to build a network. An office network generally consists of several computers connected by CAT5 cables. When computers are connected in a network, they are able to share printers, fax machines, etc.

Wireless Network

A wireless network is more complicated to configure that a CAT5 network, but is useful if you lack the necessary cabling in the first place. Wireless networks are slower than CAT5 networks, and unless correctly configured are very insecure.

Email

Having established a network, you will now need to determine how to send and receive email. Do you wish to have an email address featuring your business name and for all your employees? Do you want a generic 'sales' or 'info' email address and have it delivered to several people at once?

Remote Office Access

Once you have decided on your email solution, you may wish to access it from home, different office or even your mobile phone. All so that you may be contacted wherever you are. Even when on holiday.
